Tattoo Take 2

I revised my tattoo design a little bit today. I think I'm getting closer to the final version, but it's still not there. I think I need to work on the leaves a bit more so that they don't look like a big mass of black. Suggestions?

I'm spending so much time on this because I feel like I rushed in to the last tattoo I got. I always feel like I have to say "yea, I got it right when I turned 18..." as though this excuses the fact that it isn't very interesting.

It would be nice to have an appointment scheduled for sometime before school starts... but I'll be in the Bay Area for a week, then will have to finish up my internship AND move to a new place at the same time. So yea, working in time for a new tattoo seems quite unlikely. No sense in making arbitrary deadlines if perfection is my mission anyway. The older version can be seen here.
